MOONLEAF Naga

Chinese New Year marks a very significant entrance of one of the most promising tea shops in Metro Naga. Together with the lucky Water Dragon, Nagueños warmly welcomes Moonleaf Naga at Magsaysay Avenue.

The program started at 5:00PM. The shop was of course jam-packed with local personalities and friends.

A fortune teller was also invited to entertain the guest and as well as uuhhmmm predict their future. Naks!

One thing that really made my day was when she (manghuhula) told me that my ka-HOHOL is going to be my partner this year (agad-agad?).

Chef Deo Tayag welcomed the guests.

Henry Tadeo, Manager, gave the Brand Talk.

The program was closed by a Tea Toast led by Mayor John Bongat.

Moonleaf treated the VIP guest with simple merienda after the program.

The night was filled with a lot of surprises.

Games.

Testimonies.

@elpeeabias
BTW, I got all the pictures from his blog. Thanks!

Really had fun! It was indeed one of the most memorable Chinese New Year celebrations ever!

takingCHANCES

Randomly, I decided to shift from watchtng the "dragon-ly" production number of ASAP2012 to the very humble show of Party Pilipinas. Out of luck (I guess; one manghuhula told me that a song will remind me of my past), I bumped into this number of la diva singing a very melodious piece which eventually turned out to be my song for one of my prayers this 2012.

I immediately tweet-ed the lyrics to Jaycee hoping that she knows the song. Hours passed and the song slipped my trying-to-busy mind.

Around 6:30 in the evening, I found my self drinking my favorite Wintermelon Milk Tea at Moonleaf Naga. All of a sudden, a very familiar guy entered the shop. Since that I'm blessed in terms of "long term memory" (syeeet! amnesia na ata 'to), di ko talaga ma-remember kung saan ko siya nakita. But anyway, care na, its kinda embarrassing din if I'll do the first move diba? (shy-type talaga ako promise).Tik-tok-tik-tok, clock moves so fast as well as my eagerness to remember the name of the guy, until I was pushed by some angels from heaven to do the first "hi-hello-I-think-we've-met" move. (Syeeet, it was so nakakahiya, shy type nga ako diba?). Charraaan.

Me: Hi. (hiya-meter 10%)
WMT: Hello.
Me: I think we've met before?
WMT: HINDI pa ata. (Syeeet, hiya-meter taas bigla 99%)
Me: Are you sure? I think oo na. (Syeeet, sabihin mo please, YES.sasabog na ata ako sa hiya)
WMT: Ah. Yes, sa MCDO. I saw you with ahhm - him.
Me: Ah yes. Si Dad.
WMT: Sainyo ba 'to? (Mukhang mayaman ako tonight ata - inferness, conversationalist)
Me: Ah. Hindi, friend lang ako.

Sa sobrang hiya - hindi na ako nakapag bigay ng mga witty responses  sakanya.

Epic fail. I guess he thinks that I'm a boring creature. Oh noooo. If only I could bring back time and give him a wonderful conversation from a stranger in Moonleaf. Chos!

But anyway, this experience taught me an important life-lesson.

Never be afraid to take chances.

Hope everyone's having a great Sunday! Spread love! This is an empowering song! Take chances! :)

Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow

One step closer

[Chorus:]
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this

One step closer

[Chorus:]
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

One step closer
One step closer

[Chorus:]
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

Palawan

He's been one of Philippine's finest together with Atty. Oposa especially in environmental reforms. Gerardo Ortega or Doc Gerry's death has given Palawan an incarnated strength to pursue their fight against bad governance which leads to careless exploitation of the natural sources (resources) of our last frontier.

Doc Gerry holds evidences which could expose graft and corruption (source) of the former governor Joel Reyes. The incident has been primarily connected to the former governor (source) since that the gun used to kill Doc Gerry was traced to his aide.

It's just heartbreaking to realize that the Philippines needs to have another martyr in order for us to move and take action against the pressing issues of mining in the Philippines. Now, a lot of big names, companies and ordinary citizens engage themselves to stop mining in the Philippines (isa na 'ko dun - di lang masyadong halata). After social media was used, more and more Pinoys have the chance to do their part in forwarding the advocacy.

m

For several months, I've been doing a lot of talks and seminars to share my thoughts about mining. It is very empowering that a lot of big names (especially in the education sector) also support the advocacy. Fr. Joel Tabora, SJ of Ateneo de Davao is one of them. Thanks to CEAP for this (stand)

SM BAGUIO

Please sign this petition forwarded by Baguio residents through environmental friends. They need our support especially in campaigning for the cancellation of the earthballing permit that Mr. Henry Sy's SM Mall Baguio acquired. Please pass on to your networks!

Background (Preamble):
The SM Development Corp (SMDC) is set to cut 43 fully grown Alnus japonica trees while also intending to uproot 97 growing pine trees (Pinus kesiya) and 42 saplings virtually sentencing to death a total of 182 trees within the Luneta Hill area where SMDC is found to pave way for another parking lot. This is is totally unacceptable, and callously insensitive to the importance of trees to the environment and ecology. We protest vehemently this intended act. It appears that on Oct. 27, 2011, the Department of Environment and Natural resources (DENR granted a cutting, balling and pruning permit to SMDC upon the instruction of a clearance signed by DENR Sec. Ramon Paje on Oct., 2011. This shows that DENR does not fully appreciate and understand the contributions of these trees which have already grown up in view of the global warming and environmental threats. By issuing a tree cutting permit, DENR allows itself to be questioned publicly of its worthiness as well as its role as defender of the environment and natural resources. By ruling in favor of tree cutting by a business entity, it is fast losing public support to an already tarnished image. DENR also shows preferential treatment for business establishments against original inhabitants, locals and residents who have long cared for the environment. Economy at the expense of the environment is greed. We find this utterly senseless and call on the immediate stoppage for these trees from being harmed or killed. Please sign now! Let us all work to stop such stupid acts where our environment is sacrificed for financial gain by a few profiteers. Let us stop these tree cutters. Let us save what is left of our beloved Baguio. If our political leaders and agency public servants do not do what is mandated of them, let us show what a citizens' initiative can do. We can do this.

Sign the PETITION here.
