Palawan

He's been one of Philippine's finest together with Atty. Oposa especially in environmental reforms. Gerardo Ortega or Doc Gerry's death has given Palawan an incarnated strength to pursue their fight against bad governance which leads to careless exploitation of the natural sources (resources) of our last frontier. 








Doc Gerry holds evidences which could expose graft and corruption (source) of the former governor Joel Reyes. The incident has been primarily connected to the former governor (source) since that the gun used to kill Doc Gerry was traced to his aide. 


It's just heartbreaking to realize that the Philippines needs to have another martyr in order for us to move and take action against the pressing issues of mining in the Philippines. Now, a lot of big names, companies and ordinary citizens engage themselves to stop mining in the Philippines (isa na 'ko dun - di lang masyadong halata). After social media was used, more and more Pinoys have the chance to do their part in forwarding the advocacy.

For several months, I've been doing a lot of talks and seminars to share my thoughts about mining. It is very empowering that a lot of big names (especially in the education sector) also support the advocacy. Fr. Joel Tabora, SJ of Ateneo de Davao is one of them. Thanks to CEAP for this (stand).
