Ten Moves

Hinding hindi ka magsisisi kay PAGSI :)

Onofre "PAGSI" Pagsanghan.
I was given the chance to hear this passionate (understatement) man talk about his experience at the
Ateneo de Manila High School.
I will never get tired listening to his speeches. I will always be a fan.

REALITY CHECK:
The Philippine public schools lack 66,800 classrooms. While the government’s budget for the building of classrooms has increased in 2011 and is being increased again in 2012, the resources are still not enough to fully address the problem. The private sector, through the 57-75 Education Reform Movement, is responding to government’s call for support through a campaign called “Bayanihang Pampaaralan“. BP aims to solicit corporate donations, seek grants from donor agencies, and tap individual donors to raise the resources required to build 10,000 classrooms in two years.

TEN MOVES

TEN Moves! is a campaign to raise enough resources to build 10,000 classrooms in public schools all over the Philippines. Its main strategy is to get 2 million people to donate P10 per day for 10 months. That will be P300 per month or P3,000 for the entire 10 months. Because of the huge target and the massive mobilization that this will entail, this public fundraising campaign requires mobilizing a large number of organizations and people around the country. It is expected to be supported widely by Filipinos and even non-Filipinos working together to address an urgent problem of the country. Thus, the name TEN Moves! also means “TheEntire Nation Moves!
